Is Google Penguin 4.0 Coming in March 2016?

What's New No Comment

google-penguin-01

Attention to all digital marketers and SEO practitioners, this is a news flash that would definitely make your ears clap.  So close yet so far but the long wait is finally getting shorter because the most anticipated update of Google Penguin is now coming! But what the great webmaster analyst Gary Illyes is quoted saying:

“The new Penguin update will make webmaster’s life easier a bit and for most people it will make it a delight.”

What’s Hot and New?

Through the years, Penguin it has always been changed and updated for the betterment of SEO and digital marketing experience. It will be your 24/7 friendly SEO tool because it will always be actively updating the algorithms. You know for a fact that spams and cheat tactics are just lurking everywhere around the bush.  Therefore, the new update is here to save the day!

In addition to its remarkable features, Penguin maintains fairness by eradicating those non-business links on Google Search Results from their ranks, and helps those legit links in their respective and appropriate rank places. Also, it will conduct extensive monitoring of the links provided to a particular website and will work by instantly detecting spam link profiles. With the new Google disavow tool, it will disavow those spam and cheaters, and retain those good links that legitimately deserves to be retained.

Semantic Search at Its Finest

Using RankBrain, all gathered disavowed files can be collected and be used to generate a specific code that would aid in recognizing spam links through the assignation of a negative value. On the other hand, it could also help in determining the link’s topical relevance. What makes it superior from PageRank is that RankBrain has the ability to give a bonus value. Therefore, it would make the segregation of non-relevant links to the relevant ones easier.

Say Goodbye to Private Blog Networks (PBN)

Manual penalties also run in the digital world. Google sanctions those unnatural links and websites that compromise the anchor text. Last December 2015, it was found out there has been an increasing number of manual penalties. But despite the presence of these escalating figures, they ease their way out by using their PBNs to boost their ranks. These networks will be ended to stop these tech lapses.

Expanding Links

What you did not know about semantic webs is that, it can also result to a wider utilization of unlinked mentions as ranking factors. Hence, it can be concluded that the spreading rumor that Google includes unlinked mentions in Google Search Consoles is true. It clearly shows that ranking signals are being widely utilized.

Studies and surveys have often shown that an increased traffic will result in an increase in sales. Increasing traffic to your site is really challenging so we have come up with this list of the top 6 overlooked ways to boost traffic to your eCommerce site.

social-media-campaigns-01

1. Social media campaigns

The best way to boost traffic to your e-commerce site is by getting involved in a social media campaign. This allows you to contact your customer base directly. The best type of social campaign would be the one which has a strong message in it. It is best that you keep your customers engaged and show them that you care about the cause as it can bring in more traffic to your e-commerce site.

2. Creating a good blog

Content is the bedrock of any eCommerce site and what could be better than to make the customers share their own stories on your blog. Having a content strategy is prevalent in almost 80% of companies which tells you how important it is; but to make them work to your advantage is a different thing. It is best if you can make them talk about the relevance of your products in their life which will make these blogs seem more realistic and honest and will deliver a valuable message.

promote-via-apps-01

 3. Promoting your products via Apps and more

There is no better way to promote your products than putting them in an app. There are apps for almost everything imaginable and more of these apps being developed every day. This is why it will be prudent to either develop apps by you or sign up on a site which will help you make your product more visible to the customers.

virtual-presentation-01

4. Virtual presentation of your products

It is always advisable to show off your products in real time. This is why we recommend that you make videos of your products and upload them, so your customers can see the products. There are two ways you can employ to publish these videos. The first one is to give third parties like YouTube and others the responsibility to publish it. While, the second one is self-hosting, this is also a powerful method that puts your site on the higher echelons in terms of videos.

5. Buying Domain Name Misspellings

It is better if you can buy misspells for your domains rather than invest in the variations of domains such as .org.net and more. The beauty of misspells is that, suppose you have 5 misspells and they have an average 7 visits per day, then as a result, you will have a total of 35 visits from them in a day.  This is a very sound strategy to employ when you are trying to boost traffic for your e-commerce site. (i.e., receive.com common misspellings are receive.com, recive.com)

customer-reviews

6. Customer Reviews

According to market surveys, as many as 88% of customers trust online reviews which has prompted most of the companies to have some sort of review receiving mechanisms in their online and offline stores. Therefore, increasing traffic can be made easy if you are being able to convince your customers to write reviews on your e-commerce sites or about their experience with your products and services. (Source)

Top 10 Most Expensive Domains Of All Time

What's New No Comment

Setting up a website is mostly simple for most people. However, the challenge comes when you are picking a domain name for the site. If you are looking for a domain name that is still unused, it may take you a while.

As you would expect, the best domains are already gone. The single word ones are very popular for obvious reasons. Can you guess how much the owners had to pay for them? The following list of the top 10 most expensive domains of all time may surprise you.

Source: Hackinguniversity.in

Source: Hackinguniversity.in

  1. Insurance.com – Back in 2010, insurance.com was sold for about 35.6 million dollars making it the most expensive domain to date. Who bought this domain? Well, the same people who acquired insure.com, which is also on this list. QuinStreet was the company behind this outrageous purchase that shook the entire domain market. Although the price tag was also for the content, analysts believe that the main asset was the domain.
  2. VacationRentals.com – This is easily one of the most expensive domains of all time and it easily makes it to the top ten. This transaction took place in 2007 at a cost of a whooping 35 million dollars. The buyer of this domain was none other than the present owner of HomeAway. His admission was that he bought the domain so that he could prevent Expedia from acquiring it. Expedia is a travel website with its headquarters in Washington.
  3. PrivateJet.com – Nations Luxury Transportation, LLC (Nations) acquired privatejet.com for a cool 30 million dollars, making this one of the most expensive domain sales ever. Nations bought the domain name from Don’t Look Media.com, which is a private company, in 2012. What motivated this buy? According to a press release at the time, privatejet.com would be a website of choice for pilots, jet travelers, and brokers. The site would be attracting at least 250,000 visitors per month by December 2012.
  4. Internet.com  – Most people would have expected this domain to the priciest; unfortunately, this is not the case. Nevertheless, at 18 million dollars, the domain fetched some good money too. However, the most interesting thing about this domain is the ownership; QuinStreet again! Yet it does not stop there. QuinStreet has gone ahead to acquire JavaScript.com, DatabaseJournal.com, and a host of other popular sites.
  5. Insure.com – As we noted earlier, insure.com was also bought by QuinStreet. It makes it to the top most expensive domains of all time with a worth of 16 million dollars. As you would guess, insurance.com is for insurance purposes. Having been bought at a little more than 1 million dollars by the original owners, the domain was eventually sold to QuinStreet at 16 million dollars in 2009. This was more than ten times the original cost.
  6. Sex.com – With the understanding that sex sells, this industry makes to the list as well. Although the domain sex.com is not at the top of this list, it entered into the Guinness Book of records. This is because it was the most expensive domain-only buy at the time. Clover Holdings Ltd bought this domain from Escom LLC for 13 million dollars in 2010.
  7. Fund.com  – Fund.com deals with investment and financial services, just as the name suggests. In a deal brokered in 2008, this domain cost the owner about 9.9 million dollars. Interestingly, the site was still inactive at the time of compiling this list. It is still not yet clear why Clek Media brokered this deal. We can only wait and see what the owner does with this site. Probably it will eventually be sold at an even more staggering price.
  8. Porn.com – Another spicy site also makes the list of top ten most expensive domains in history. Unlike fund.com, this domain is doing very well. The owner bought the domain for 9.5 million dollars back in May, 2007. If you consider all-cash transactions, this was the biggest sale for a domain by 2007.
  9. Diamond.com – If you visit diamond.com, you will be taken to what you would expect from such a site-a center for all forms of diamond rings. A click on one link on the site will take you to bluenile.com where you can customize your ring. At 7.5 million dollars asking price in 2006, diamond.com is definitely one of the biggest domain buys in history.
  10. Beer.com – Beer.com is supposed to be an online marketplace for beer. However, a visit to the site now will show a landing page that is nowhere near to appealing. All the same, beer.com closes the list of 10 most expensive domains courtesy of its 7 million dollars price tag in 2004.

As the amount of money in this list show, the domain name industry is very big. The fact that someone is ready to pay as much as 35.6 million dollars in exchange for a simple name shows how massive the internet is. Considering that billions of people visit these sites daily, the huge prices are somehow justified.

They are now part of the Diastasis Rehab business team after working with them almost a year now. I cannot even imagine having another company managing my Presta shopping cart. After a bad experience with a programmer, I needed a new programmer (one that knew prestashop shopping cart) and most important one that I could trust. Finding all three was a difficult process! Lucky for me I found them. I cannot say enough about the diversity of services that this company provides. Every step of the way they make amazing suggestions to increase my sales and they get back to be right away either by email or phone. They have even created a simple and easy check out program for Presta Shop. They are actually a one stop shop! They updated my SSL, are setting up and changing my server to a dedicated one, setting up streaming of my DVD, website design, creating a specific program for address verification on Presta cart and handled the integration of Presta cart with my fulfillment house. I am now working on developing an APP with them
