Native Apps vs. Web Apps

Similar in the name appearance, these are two very different things.

Let’s start by talking about native applications. A native application is what you would find in an application store. Native apps are extremely solid and powerful, and they allow you to have a stronger and more engaging interaction with the potential application user, the person downloading your application.

So now, let us talk now about mobile web apps. They are commonly referred as html or mobile websites. Mobile web apps are a great addition to your mobile presence, but they are not a good end for everything. Mobile web apps are essentially web pages just like you can see them on your computer, yet they are smaller and less functional, so that it can be easily used on a mobile phone.

If we were to compare them two, web app is just a good appetizer for the native app that can be a perfect dinner.

So let us recap, why use native apps? Because they are easier to download for people, you can simply build a long lasting relationship. Mobile web apps are a great addition to native web apps, yet not good stand-alone solutions.

Once upon a time consumers had to go to great lengths to acquire the things that made their life better. As time went by, retailers and marketers came up with inventive ways of getting their customers what they want. Along the way, various technological advances guided the evolution of commerce. Newspapers, magazines, radio and television; all helped eager consumers look for what they wanted to purchase and where they wanted to purchase.  Catalogues, the telephone and the postal service combined to let the public shop in the comfort and tranquillity of their own homes. However, the ultimate shopping experience was yet to come.

While PCs and laptops are, still the most widely used channel for browsing and purchasing, tablet and mobile shopping is on the rise. Managing

bad-boss-4001Managing a development team is the greatest job ever!

Just imagine getting up in the morning, having your coffee, checking your emails and agenda and thinking what you will have to do that day. You get dressed and go outside. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining, birds are singing. You get in the car and drive to the office. What a day! Even the traffic looks friendly today; no one is swearing, yelling or using the car horn as if it would be an extension of their hand. Everything is perfect! You get to the office and then…development team happens!

Every each of them has something to ask you, and you answer because that is your job. Then they ask again cause they did not really understood the first time, even if they said they did. You answer again because you are the boss and you have to help them do their job the best. This time they get it! Thank God!

You get to your own things. Clients asking many questions, updates, overdue projects, bills and payrolls to pay; insignificant things like these. What to do? Talk to the development team, and see where the projects are exactly, and when will they finish their tasks. You will not believe it but in a matter of minutes your blood goes up and you find yourself yelling. Wow! No way! A manager NEVER yells! (If anyone has anything to say about it, let him know that that is just the way you talk; a bit louder than everyone else is).

logom-2I love IT. I love it for its lack of rudeness but also for its lack of patience. Most of all I it like for its anonymity.

The first thing you should know about me is that I am a developer.

In a world where technology comes, changes and goes with the speed of light, the surest way to tell a developer is to look for the person behind the screen.  Scroll the site page; you will see his work everywhere and maybe his name somewhere down in a corner of the page.  He does not attract attention but you cannot forget his work. Call me an IT guy, programmer or a developer. It is just a matter of semantics. There are many kinds of developers so you cannot generalize. However, I can tell you about me: I should say that I was not the kid with big glasses in school; I have enough friends to have a social life outside the online world, even though that does not mean every day, but you know…

I am very high class! This means I charge by the hour, and I charge enough for the clients to have exactly or more then fabulous results.

So, why do I do it? Well, I love coding and I love money! Let us be fair about it. Everyone does! I know you do not believe that I enjoy coding, but I do. Moreover, I am very good at it!

Companies using SaaS do not have to invest dollars in purchasing the software or spend time in managing the solution. All they have to do is to access the software using the internet and benefit from the on-demand software without doing hardware management. The web-based software typically run on the provider’s servers and the user is free from the management of aspects such as security and availability of the solution.

Research firm Gartner has predicted that by 2013, 90 percent of e-commerce sites will certainly use at least one product from SaaS or SaaS vendors. Further it is also stated that 40 percent of e-commerce sites will begin to use SaaS solutions by the end of next year. Popularity of SaaS has driven companies such as Salesforce.com to extend its software as a service business. The software giant now offers applications enabling businesses to mine social Web information and keep in touch with both present and potential clients.
